Swaddling is an age old technique used to make your baby feel safe and secure:
- Swaddling helps to make your baby feel secure and comfortable, as it is designed to imitate the security of the enclosed surroundings they experienced in the womb
- Swaddling helps your baby sleep on their back, the pediatrician recommended sleeping position
- Swaddling helps your baby stay asleep by reducing sudden arm and leg movements (startle reflexes)
- Swaddling keeps your baby’s face uncovered
- Swaddling prevents your baby moving around the crib and getting into dangerous or uncomfortable positions

I’m going to be reviewing a few Baby shower games to give you a few ideas of what you can do for fun!
1. Baby Shower Bingo
Print off the cards here (there is an easy .pdf version you can print off) and cut them out. Print off one extra game card for your master copy. With scissors, cut up your master copy into the individual squares – each square with one word on it. Put these squares into a hat (or diaper bag) and draw them out one at a time during the game. Read the word on your square when you pull it out. Give your guests time to find the word on their card and place a game piece over the word. Then you draw out another square and read that word aloud, as before. This continues until someone fills in a row (vertically, horizontally or diagonally) and yells “BINGO!”.
2.Finish the Baby Rhyme
Have the host read out loud part of a nursery rhyme to be finished by the other guests
3. Baby Pictionary
Create cards by writing words or phrases that have to do with babies on each car. Divide guests into teams. Each round one person from each team views a card and draws the word or phrase for her team to guess. Set a timer for 2 minutes each round. After 5 to 7 rounds, each team adds up their points and the team with the most wins.
4. Baby Sock Match
With 10 to 15 different pairs of socks and a timer have two people at a time race to see who can match the most baby socks in 30 seconds. When the game is done the mother-to-be has several new pairs of socks for her newborn.
5. Pin the Sperm on the egg
Just like the old fashion game of pin the tail on the donkey, this new and exciting version will thrill your friends and family.
6. Guess how many safety pins
Pass around a jar full of baby safety pins. The one who guesses the closest wins a baby shower prize.
7. Guess the baby picture
Ask for everyone’s picture prior to the baby shower. Have all the pictures in a collage and make lines for people to fill in who they think the babies are out of the girls at the baby shower. If most women don’t know each other, just have the pictures of the mother, mother-in-law and mommy-to-be. See how many people guess right.
8. Draw a baby game
Each participant is given a paper plate and a crayon. They are asked to place the plate on their heads like a hat. They are given 1 minute to draw a baby on the plate while holding it over their heads. They then write their name on the other side. Mommy-to-be chooses the best drawing as the baby shower winner.
9. Baby shower vests
Pass out the plain white vests to each guest and have them write their names on the bottoms, during the baby shower, ask them to decorate the front/back of the vest, mommy-to-be keeps the vest and they serve as good memorabilia of the shower and a useful gift for baby.
10. Winner takes all
A piggy bank is passed arount and everyone puts their spare change in it. Then each person is given the chance to guess how much change is in the piggy bank. The person who comes the closest to the right amount wins “laundry detergent” and the mommy-to-be gets all the money! This is very entertaining game… especially when you see the face of the person who wins the detergent.
